This is not a simple story of redemption, no suffragette waving a flag, no borrowed feminist slogans. This is a story of awareness, a shared, carefully attuned vision behind a project that seeks to let women be told by women. It is a story that begins in Milan, or perhaps further afield, and finds its home in Rome, in the vibrant Garbatella district in the city’s southern quadrant, where community runs deep and forward-thinking ideas are embraced. ZIC!, a female-oriented wine bar, was born last July 2025, yet it already feels like a neighbourhood institution – everyone knows it, everyone loves it. Everyone, that is, except the couriers, who have a hard time finding it behind the sign of the old shop it has replaced, a sign that still reads like a relic of another life: (translated🙂 Gas and electric water heaters, Kitchen sinks, Sanitary ware, Faucets, Bathroom furnishings, Shower cubicles.
