There’s a kind of hunger that’s never satisfied: it doesn’t belong to the stomach, but to the skin, to memory, to desire.
t’s the one that Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, in Immoral Recipes, turns into a literature of the body and of taste, a breviary of pleasures where eros and food merge like lovers who recognize each other by touch.
Starting from this sensual and ironic universe, the project Immoral Recipes by Giulia Brighenti and Talisa Cattini, in collaboration with chef Luca Marchini (of the restaurant L’Erba del Re in Modena), reinterprets three emblematic dishes from the book — Pane e pomodoro, Paté caldo di funghi Maite, Crema al vino e limone — as fragments of an erotic atlas. Here, food is not represented: it is evoked, touched, smeared, savored. It is surface and body, ritual and language.
